Naging touch-base ang recent congress for me. this is my first time to REALLY attend the congress as a participant, though di talaga full time participant pero partcipant as well. Sa loob ng more than 3 years of serving VYLH, lagi akong nasa background, working, serving, etc. It was great na makipag bond talaga sa iba pang volunteers at di lang lagi sa officers.. hehe. ang dami kong natutunan sa mga experinces ng kapwa volunteers and i am really inspired sa mga great works nila. ayun

To say that I have learned a lot form the recently held congress is an understatement. over the years, people from VYLH didn't fail to surprise me. everyone is willing to learn and is passionate about what they are doing. their spirits are encouraging and inviting and the friendship that every single person offer is enough to make me stay as a volunteer aside from the fact that I really want to help and reach out to the people involved in our advocacy.
I have learned from different talks the patience and determination to carry on even if it contradicts others norm. to serve the country and it's people despite the hardships and sacrifices that are needed to be done. I am also very proud for it really is the youth's initiative to work and move others through their devotion to the advocacy. I am glad to see my fellow youth work hand in hand to change what has long been needed to be altered.
our coming together is a big leap towards humanity. some might say the youth should MOVE and WORK now for they will be "the hope of the fatherland", but that day, we proved that we are already moving, we are already working. that we really are the hope of this nation.
we might be away from each other for now, but the friendship and passion will live on. we well continue to prove the world that there is hope. and that hope lives in everyone of us .-

Every day, thousands of people voluntarily give their time and talent to thousands of organizations across the Philippines.
Volunteering is a way of helping or it is the most fundamental act of citizenship and philanthropy in our society. I remember what Dr.Jaime Galvez - Tan talk about the society and the conditions of health, today we are suffering from different insignificant disasters but one of the greatest thing is there is VYLH-Philippines to help the society in just humane way. Yes few are chosen, but it is not enough for us to become few we need to be more for better ACTS we can do.
I salute all the person behind this BIG EVENT( 2nd National Congress for VYLH-Philippines), for sustaining the advocacy of the group, we are all bless to become part of the organization. And to all Volunteers please keep the FIRE BURNING AND BURNING and BURNING. To the I3 members we are happy that all of you become ONE of our Vision. And to all i know we can do it all I believe that I CARE, YOU CARE, WE CARE.
Go!!!! VYLH PHILIPPINES...

Becoming a part of VYLH is probably one of the best decisions i ever made. This organization has nestled young leaders to overcome their fears and do something beyond what they think they are capable of. A very simple advocacy which leaves a very great impact to the society. It's an overwhelming feeling to know that for every effort of pushing toward the goal you are actually enabling the country to realize its utmost potential. You get to see babies enjoy normal life, mothers are healthier and fathers become more responsible partners.
VYLH has taught me a lot and has made me become aware that I'm worth something after all.
MARTHA V -ANNE SAAVEBRA- I3 REGION 8
VYLH as an organization not only taught me how to channel my passion into health's advocacy but it allowed me to all the more believe in the power of unity despite the diversity.
GOD has indeed blessed the Philippnes for having such dynamic and dedicated volunteers. God will empower us more

I was and still am blessed to be our organization's rep to the network. All those experiences that we've been through are really memorable to me. In VYLH, you don't only learn, help and advocate, but you also get to enjoy what you do.
The most recent congress was well-planned and it taught the volunteers - both new and old - things that can help them with the advocacy of the network. I can treasure this experience for I have not only gained new ideas, but I also met a lot of new friends, was able to talk to old ones and yes, it helped the fire of volunteerism spark up once again.
Being and bearing the works of a leader was and never will be an easy task. But VYLH makes the experience worthwhile and fruitful. Kudos to the organizers, our titos and titas, ates and kuyasa and all the volunteers who have stepped up to take the challenge of being an advocate, a volunteer and a leader.

One of the many reasons why I love VYLH is that. . . I don't just get the chance to make the 'Rare' happy... I also get the chance to be HAPPIER with these extraordinary and RARE Volunteers!! We don't JUST keep the fire burning, but we INCREASE THE FLAME even more! =DD

The past congress inspires me a lot in helping the children having birth deffects at the same time helping women to avoid/minimize those. It encourages me to do different activities throughout our province to dissiminate the information of the importance of our advocacy into their lives. As a volunteer, kahit busy ako sa work.. still find time para makagawa ng activities. It makes me proud knowing that I am saving the lives of an individual.

Rizal's doctrine taught us that the youth is the hope of our Fatherland. And yes, in all walks of life, profession, creed and dialect, we share the same burning passion as partners of nation building. Our innovativeness and creativeness brought us to places. We lead not to garland ourselves with a throng of praise, but we lead to serve our people. As the largest segment of the population, we see ourselves as a rising force above the routine, to face formidable challenges in the near future and to be the catalyst of change.
Together, our vision is to create a healthier nation. Hand in hand, we do our share to escalate Newborn Screening national coverage . With a small piece of paper, we communicate the importance of folic acid to the expectant mother in the far-flung areas in line with the fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals to decrease child mortality rate and improve maternal health. We do serve as an invincible army of the "orphans", as we lobby a legislative act towards their welfare and longevity.
To the members of the steering committee of the Second VLYH Congress, my felicitations. It is with pride and honor to be one of the delegates of this congress. It’s not everyday that you feel the warmth of the people around you and their drive to move a nation. The event has engulfed and overwhelmed me with mixed emotions. I feel nostalgic and sad, yet happy and fulfilled. For how can you detach or separate yourself from something which has become an integral part of your life? My sincerest gratitude to the people behind this event who have driven hard to develop our juvenile minds into responsible faculties. I’ am proud to tell that my personal experiences in this organization have forged me into a sterner human being: eager, free and courageous. For this will serve me in a good stance when I shall be confronted with bigger and seemingly insurmountable trials.
To our I3, I challenge each of you to continue this endeavor , spread the light to those who stumbled on, in darkness and be a solace to the underprivileged. Take not the road, less traveled because you are tough enough to create a new pavement. Tomorrow, we must look forth to a new beginning, new frontier as we hurdle our dreams for a better Philippines.
Tayong mga kabataan ang siyang liwanag ng bayan. Sama sama nating ilawan ang bukas.
Mabuhay VYLH!

When global security was threatened by Loki and his cohorts, the world has to call on for the unity of the mightiest heroes to form them as a mighty team – the Avengers.
I would like to salute the hopeful hearts who believed in the capability of the youth to kick start the change that we all want to happen for our country. We may be the only organization raising this advocacy; however, there are already hundreds in our battalion who are willing to inspire more people to the team using the ammunition of knowledge and ideas about the advocacies in VYLH. The congress has succeeded in making the youth leaders feel how much trust the country has for the battalion of the bravest servant leaders both in school and in the community. Finally, the 2nd VYLH Congress proved how much they have sustained their fire of servant leadership through the various achievements of the volunteers and the continued participation of the previous batches of VYLH.
In the Philippines, when poor ignorant pregnant mothers and innocent young babies were threatened by folic acid deficiencies and rare diseases, the country has to call on for the unity of the bravest servant leaders from various regions to form them as a mighty team – the Volunteer Youth Leaders for Health.

JOHN BRYAN CONSTANTINO - K4 NCR
The VYLH Second National Leadership Congress taught me a lot of things. Things that are priceless, things that you can share, and things that you can bring all throughout your life.
As a Professional, I learned to be more firm with the decisions that I make. Learn from the consequences it will offer and become a better professional. I should always have ONE VISION in all the things that I do so that I will not confuse myself while walking along the path of life.
As a Volunteer, I learned to be more committed not because I am told to do so or I am bound by the constitution but because this is what I want, this is what I love, and this is what I am built for. We share the same spirit, the same love, and the same passion making us have a ONE HEART.
As a Person, I learned that life is truly amazing. It is full of surprises, either good one or a challenging one. It gives us a sense of being responsible with what we do. I know that once in our lifetime we became uncertain with what we wanna do but because we know ourselves and we know that we only have ONE GOAL, we can never be lost.
Although used many times, I still believe that "Many are called but few are chosen" and the persons you see right now are the living proof that we are one of the few who are chosen.
One of the best moments in the congress is the Commitment Ritual. I can feel the SOLEMNITY and SPIRIT. I can see the DIVERSITY. I can see the UNITY. This is the part of the congress that made me feel I belong and that I should be a part of this. The cultures that I see and the dialects that I heard, they only shout one thing and that is LOVE. We are here not because our organization brought us here but because we want to spread the advocacies to help our fellowmen and that is how we share our love with them.
I salute to the persons behind the formation of this organization. I congratulate all the persons who unselfishly dedicated their time in sustaining the organization and its advocacies. And, I thank all of the volunteers who are passionate in what they do for VYLH and its advocacies.
Kudos! More power to VYLH! God Bless us all!

"I'm very fortunate to be in this congress surrounded by like minded youths that share the same goal, to make Philippines a 'healthy-country'."
SHANE PauL - K4 REGION 9
congress opens a lot of realization(healthy and useful thoughts) for us leaders, thats its not the position that matters but its the actions that we do to make a great change in the society.
